The Columbian Exchange did not simply influence the New World; it completely transformed and nearly destroyed it. Although crops, cattle, and technology provided the New World with new and practical tools, diseases such as smallpox brought from the Old World devastated the New World civilizations. Therefore, the Old World greatly influenced and affected the New World during the Columbian Exchange.

The New World influenced the Old World More:

The New World influenced the Old World by introducing new crops and livestock to European and world markets. These agricultural advancements helped to further increase the power of European countries. In particular, crops such as corn and potatoes became popular staples in many European countries, as well as in nations throughout the world.

The Colombian Exchange was an exchange between ,goods ,technology, and mostly culture between the America's ,having been recently discovered,and Europe. It is also named after Christopher Columbus who discovered america in 1492. The exchange lasted throughout the years and kept going for a long time until america decided to secede from Britain.

Europe and Newly Born/Discovered America had a supply chain built between them where they exchanged goods such as: horses,spice's,apples,fruit and food in general, and plants to help grow crops they needed to survive. Now while this may seem like it was beneficial in lots of, ways in some it was not. The merchants brought disease with them and in other cases the Colonists gave them diseases. The system was not totally perfect but it was necessary, without it we would not have the America we have today. Examples: Without the food and supply's brought many more colonists may have died then the ones who did, and without the new technology such as, medicine, farming equipment , and construction equipment needed to build houses we would not have established a common ground to live on. So in my opinion, and my opinion only. i believe it helped establish our country more than we can understand.
