Use the distance formula:


\sf d = √((x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2) \quad where\:(x_1,y_1), \:(x_2, y_2)\:are\:points

Here the points are (-1, 4), (8, -8)

Substitute these values in formula:


\sf d = √((8 - (-1))^2 + (-8 -4)^2)


\sf d = √((9)^2 + (-12)^2)


\sf d = √(81 + 144)


\sf d = √(225)


\sf d = 15
