Lets solve both Left hand side and right hand side separately and then equate.

LHS


7(1)/(4) -3(3)/(4) = (29)/(4) -(15)/(4)

=
(29)/(4) -(15)/(4 ) = (14)/(4)

Taking RHS


4(1)/(4) -(3)/(4) = (17)/(4) -(3)/(4) =(14)/(4)

clearly LHS = RHS hence both quantities are equal to each other
