HELP PLEASE!!!

The football team wanted to buy some t-shirts for the match. There were 2 companies that were selling them. The football team needed the numbers on the t-shirts as well. So they had to pay a fee for that. The first company was selling the t-shirt for 15 pounds and the fee for the number on the t-shirt 50 pounds. The second one had the t-shirt for 10 pounds and fee for 85 pounds. The total price was the same with these companies. Find out how many t-shirts did the team buy? No answer needed, just explain to me please how to do it.

Answer:

"The team bought 7 t-shirts"

Explanation given below

Explanation:

We can form the cost equation for both the companies and EQUATE them to find the number of t-shirts.

Let the number of t-shirts be x. So

First Company:

15 for each shirt and 50 for the numbers, so we can write:

15x + 50

Second Company:

10 for each shirt and 85 for the numbers, so we can write:

10x + 85

Now equating both:

15x + 50 = 10x + 85

15x - 10x = 85 - 50

5x = 35

x = 35/5

x = 7

The team bought 7 t-shirts
