Explanation:

slope = m = rise/run = (Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1)

y = mx + b

where b is y-intercept

Looking at the graph we know that (0,-1) is y-intercept.

Easiest way is to count:

so from point (0,-1) to the next point which is (1,5)

y moves top 6 (so it's positive 6)

x moves right 1 (positive 1)

remember m = rise/run = change in y / change in x = 6/1

therefore slope is 6
