-3(x+4)=-15

mutiply the bracket by -3

(-3)(x)= -3x

(-3)(4)=-12

-3x-12= -15

move -12 to the other side

sign changes from -12 to +12

-3x-12+12= -15+12

-3x= -15+12

-3x= -3

divide both sides by -3

to get + x and by itself

-3x/-3= -3/-3

Answer:

x= 1
