If you have -4 as the x value, all you have to do is substitute -4 in for x in the equation you are given, so it would be -(-4)-2. Now, you have a negative outside of your parenthesis -4, so that will have to be distributed to the -4, and it becomes positive 4. That will then make the equation 4-2, which then makes 2 your overall answer.
