How does 10 x (-3)^24 simplify to positive 10 x 3^24 and not negative 10 x 3^24 ?

Because when a negative is taken to an even power the results is positive.

So (-3)^24 is positive as 24 is even, and is the same as 3^24, and so the whole expression

10 * (-3)^24 = 10 ^ 3^24.
