Bacon’s Rebellion took place in Virginia around 1676-1677. A group of people led by Nathaniel Bacon rebelled against Governor William Berkeley. The group argued that they were the target of a series of attacks led by Native Americans and demanded that Governor Berkeley did something.

Berkeley could have listened to the group led by Bacon and should have tried to reach a compromise between both groups. Instead, he completely ignored the group and denied permission to the group to attack the Native Americans.
