Explanation:

x to the power of 2 minus 36.

6 squared is 36 so therefore. you must have 2 6's in the brackets somewhere.

then the 2 x's need to be there too.

another example can be.

x^2-81=0

it would be (x-9)(x+9)=0

you just always have the plus and minus int he brackets
