Given:

The equation is

-(1)/(4)d-(2)/(5)d=39

To find:

The value of d.

Solution:

We have,

-(1)/(4)d-(2)/(5)d=39

Taking LCM, we get

(-5d-8d)/(20)=39

(-13d)/(20)=39

Multiply both sides by 20.

-13d=39* 20

Divide both sides by -13.

d=(39* 20)/(-13)

d=-3* 20

d=-60

Therefore, the value of d is -60.
