Given:

A caterpillar moves across the grass at a rate of
4(2)/(3) feet every 7 minutes.

To find:

The rate of moving caterpillar in feet per minute.

Solution:

We have,

Distance covered by caterpillar is 7 minutes =
4(2)/(3) feet

Distance covered by caterpillar is 1 minutes =
(4(2)/(3))/(7) feet

=
((4(3)+2)/(3))/(7) feet

=
(14)/(3* 7) feet

=
(2)/(3) feet

Therefore, caterpillar move
(2)/(3) feet per minute.
