Let the width W= x

Length = (2x-3)

P= 36 m

Required

The perimeter

P= 2L+2W

36= 2(2x-3)+ 2x

36= 4x-6+2x

collect like terms

36+6= 6x

42= 6x

divide both side by 6

x= 7

the width is 7 m

the length = 2x-3= 2*7-3= 14-3= 11 m
