The acceleration of a high-speed aircraft is sometimes expressed in g's (in multiples of the standard acceleration of gravity). Determine the upward force, in N, that a 140-kg man would experience in an aircraft whose acceleration is 6 g's The upward force the man would experience is_____N

Answer:

The upward force on the man is 980 N

Solution:

As per the question:

Weight of the body, W = 140 kg

The acceleration of man,
a_(m) = 6g

Now, from fig. 1:

N - W = M
a_(m)

where

N = normal or the upward force on man

Now,

N = M
a_(m) + W

N = M(6g) + Mg = 7Mg =
7times 140 = 980 N
