use PEMDAS witch means Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction and you use it in this order

so first we use Multiplication because i see no Parentheses or Exponents to solve

so i multiply -6 by -5 to get 30

then i add 30 to 12 and i do this because i see no Division signs

so when i add 30 to 12 i get 42
