Answer:

219 grams

Explanation:

In a ratio question like this, we can normally solve it in two different ways:

1. using fractions

We can set up a fraction of peanuts to pecans = peanuts to pecans. It'll look something like this:
(8)/(3) = (584)/(x)

Then we just solve for x to get our answer:

(8)/(3) = (584)/(x)\\8x = 1752\\x=219

So there are 219 grams of peanuts.

2. using logic

Alternatively, we can look at the question and figure out how many grams of peanuts there are in one ratio unit, which would be 584/8 = 73.

So we know that one unit = 73. To find the amount of pecans, we can take our unit and multiply it by 3 to get 73*3 = 219.

So there are 219 grams of peanuts.

Please note!! If one of these answers don't make sense, just ignore it! Unless your teacher is telling you to solve it a particular way, please just solve it in whatever way makes the most sense for you!
