An object, initially at rest, moves with a constant acceleration of 10 m/s2. How far will it travel in (a) 2.0 s and (b) 4.0 s? If this object had an initial velocity of 4 m/s, how far will it travel in (C) 2.0 s and (d) 4.0 s?

Step-by-step explanation:

Initially, the object is at rest, u = 0

Acceleration of the object,
a=10\ m/s^2

(a) Distance travel in 2 second can be calculated using second equation of motion as :

s=ut+(1)/(2)at^2

s=(1)/(2)* 10* 2^2=20\ m

(b) Distance travel in 4 second can be calculated using second equation of motion as :

s=(1)/(2)* 10* 4^2=80\ m

(c) Initial velocity of the object, u = 4 m/s

s=ut+(1)/(2)at^2

s=4* 2+(1)/(2)* 10* 2^2=28\ m

(d)
s=ut+(1)/(2)at^2

s=4* 4+(1)/(2)* 10* 2^2=36\ m

Hence, this is the required solution.
