A jar of mayonnaise holds 30 ounces. When you make a sandwich you use one ounce.

Which equation best represents the amount left in the jar?


y = 30x + 1

y = -1x + 30

y = 30x - 1

y = 1x + 30

The jar of mayonnaise holds 30 ounces. Then thats the start you have 30 ounces, and everytime you make a sandwich you use 1 ounce. If you make 5 sandwich you will use 5 ounces, then the ounces used will be 1 * number of sandwichs. representing the number of sandwich by "x" you have:

y = -x + 30
