y = 1/2x+5

I'm sure you know that y=mx+b is the equation of the line, where m is the slope, b is the y-intercept and y and x of course the coordinates.

So, in order to do this one is basically plugging all that we have into this equation.

(-6,2) = (x,y)

Solve for b:

y=mx+b

2=1/2(-6) +b

2= -3 + b

2+3 = b

b = 5

Hence, the equation is: y=1/2x + 5
