During service, a tennis ball is struck at height h = 1.65 m above a tennis court and moves with velocity v0 = v0xi. Assume the ball encounters no air resistance, and use a Cartesian coordinate system with the origin located at the ball's initial position. Randomized Variables h = 1.65 m v0x = 29 m/s

Answer:

t = 0.58 s

x = 16.8 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the ball is projected horizontally from initial height of 1.65 m

so here we can find the time after which it will hit the floor

as we know that initial speed in vertical direction is zero

so we will have

\Delta y = v_y t + (1)/(2)at^2

-1.65 = 0 -(1)/(2)(9.81)t^2

t = 0.58 s

now in the same time the ball will move with constant speed in horizontal direction

so we can find the displacement of ball in horizontal direction as

x = v_x t

x = (0.58)(29)

x = 16.8 m
