A crate of potatoes of mass 19.5 kg is on a ramp with angle of incline 30.0° to the horizontal. The coefficients of friction are μs = 0.634 and μk = 0.339. Find the frictional force (magnitude and direction) on the crate if the crate is sliding down the ramp.

Answer:95.64 N

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

mass of potato is 19.5 kg

inclination of ramp
=30^(\circ)

coefficient of static friction
\mu _s=0.634

Normal reaction on block will be N=mgcos30=165.66 N

Since crate is sliding and not moving therefore static friction acts

Sin component of weight =mgsin30=95.64

Static friction
=\mu _sN=165.66 N

since static friction is more therefore it adjust itself

so net frictional force will be 95.64 N
