3. The perimeter of a rectangular playing field is 504 yards. The area of the

playing field is 14,276 square yards. Write a system of equations that could
be used to find the values of I, the length of the field, and w, the width of the
field, that will satisfy these conditions.

The perimeter is twice the sum of the length and the width:


P = 2(w+l)

The area is the product of the dimensions:


A = wl

So, the system is
