Art should express the thoughts and feelings of the artist. Universal feelings

should be expressed so that anyone who looks at the work of art can understand
what the artist is trying to say. Modern paintings that are just splashes of color
do not express any such thoughts or feelings.
15. Which of the following statements would the author of the above
passage endorse?
A
Modern art does not deserve to be called art.
B
Modern art is a clear expression of modern man's thoughts and
feelings.
C
Modern art expresses universal and timeless thoughts and
feelings.
D
Modern art is confused and disorganized because it expresses
the confusion and disorganization of the modern world.

the following statement that the author would endorse is:

B. Modern art is a clear expression of modern man's thoughts and

feelings.

By saying "Art should express the thoughts and feelings of the artist. Universal feelings

should be expressed so that anyone who looks at the work of art can understand

what the artist is trying to say" the author implies that modern art should express the thoughts and feeling of the artist.

A. Modern art does not deserve to be called art.

This is correct because if you read the authors reasoning in the passage you can see that the author has no respect for art that doesn't have universal feelings, i.e Modern art.
