The solution of 20–(–48) is 68.

Solution:

To write the difference 20–(–48 ) as sum and simplify,

Multiplication of two negative sign becomes positive. When multiply a negative number by another negative number, the product becomes positive. ⟹20 – (–48)= 20 + 48

Hence the difference 20 – (–48 ) can be written as sum ( 20 + 48 ).

For simplification we add 20 and 48, 20 + 48 = 68.
