to find how many times larger 9 ×
10^(7) is than 3 × 10³, divide , that is

(9 ×
10^(7) ) ÷ (3 × 10³)

=
(9)/(3) ×
(10^7)/(10^3)

= 3 ×
10^((7-3))

= 3 ×
10^(4)
