Answer:

1920 containers of cookies could be filled by the machine in 8 hours.

Explanation:

To solve this problem, we will follow the steps below;

First, lets change 8 hours to minutes

8 hours = 8 × 60 =480 minutes

Now using proportion,

Let x be the number of containers of cookies the machine can fill in 8 hours

20 minutes = 80 containers

480 minutes = x

cross-multiply

20×x = 480×80

20 x =38400

Divide both-side of the equation by 20

(20X)/(20) =
(38400)/(20)

(At the left-hand side of the equation 20 will cancel-out 20 leaving us with x while at the right-hand side of the equation 28400 will be divided by 20)

x= 1920 containers.

Therefore, 1920 containers of cookies could be filled by the machine in 8 hours.
