PLEASE HELP ME 80 POINTS FOR THE CORRECT ANSWER!!! HURRY

A wire extends from the top of a 6-meter telephone pole to a stake in the ground 3 meters away. How long is the wire? If necessary, round to the nearest tenth.

They way to set it up is i know a^2 + b^2 = c^2

but they have it in to different ways!! please explain and HURRYY

Answer:

c=6.7 is your answer.

Explanation:

What you do is you put the 6 and the 3 in the a and b spot.

6^2 + 3^2 = c^2 or

3^2 + 6^2 = c^2

36 + 9 = c^2

45=c^2 You will then square root 45 to get.

c=6.7 is your answer.
