Answer: A. 2 5/8

Explanation:

Let's make an unknown variable 'x' to be pounds of kettle corn.

Since one ticket get her 7/8 pounds of kettle corn, mathematically;

1 = 7/8x...(1)

To calculate the number of pounds of kettle corn that 3 tickets will get her, let's say

3 = x..(2)

If 1 ticket gets her 7/8x

3 tickets will get her 3×7/8x

That will be 21/8x

= 2 5/8x

This shows that 3 tickets will get her 2 5/8 of pounds of kettle corn. (A)
