I think the mystery of Roanoke might fit into this project. Your drawing could be of a wooden post with “croatoan” carved into to symbolize the clue left behind. You callus also draw a boat to symbolize the govner of of the new Clooney (John white) sailing away to find supplies. When he came home to his colony everyone was gone and all that was left was the wooden post with the carvings.
