If we have the function

y = f(x)

and

y' = f(x) - 2

We can say that y' is translated 2 units downward y, so for the same point in x coord, the y coord will be 2 less

If in y = f(x) we have the point (3, 6) in y' = f(x) - 2 we have the point (3, 4)
