The representative house had 435 members according to the federal law that was passed in 1911. The law determines the number of members in every house of representative. The number of population was raised from 391 to the current number because the population had increased in America.

The number has nothing special since congress will regularly increase the number of members based on the rate of population increase. However, in more than a century, the number of population has not been raised.
