These are really algebra problems pretending to be geometry.

11. ACE and BEC are the same angle if I understand the question, so

6x - 27 = 8x + 11

-2x = 38

x = -19

AEC=BEC = 6(-19)-27 = -141

check: 8(-19)+11 = -152 + 11 = -141 good

Answer: -141 (degrees I guess, though it's not really specified)

13.

We have

ABD + DBC = ABC

3x+1 + 4x - 7 = 85

7x = 91

x = 13

ABD = 3x+1 = 3(13)+1 = 40

Answer: 40 (degrees I guess)
