Articles of confederation proved to be the first constitution before US constitution came into existence. But it had too many flaws. It furnished states with an exceptional power and the union government remained powerless to impose taxes.
States’ Sovereignty was prominent than the people’s sovereignty. States were given unprecedented power which was the main cause of its failure.
It also denied the presence of a supreme Federal Court in America which made America to borrow money from other lands to wage any war.
