Answer:x=-4/9

Explanation:

first, open the parenthesis

-2x +4 -4x=3x -12 +20

start simplifying the equation

-2x+4-4x=3x+8

-6x +4=3x +8

add 6x to both sides to cancel out -6x on the left

4=9x+8

subtract 8 to get 9x alone

-4=9x

divide both sides by 9

-4/9=x
