They had a good meal, and Kofi prepared to return home with enough for his family. "No, no!" cried Spider. "I am going to take the stone." In vain did his friend try to overcome his greed. Spider insisted on putting the stone on his head and setting out for the village.

"Spider, Spider, put me down," said the stone.

"The pig came and drank and went away,

The antelope came and fed and went away

Spider, Spider, put me down."

Spider, however, refused to listen. He carried the stone from village to village selling flour, until his bag was full of money. He then set out for home.

How does the famine help to develop the theme?

A. Spider's greed is magnified by the famine.

B. Spider's greed is a result of the famine.

C. The famine makes Kofi more selfish.

D. The famine makes Kofi suspicious.

Answer:

a

Step-by-step explanation:

if there was a famine there then it is most likely a cause if they were hungry or starving they would pay whatever is needed, in the end it said "until his bag was full of money."

b doesn't sound right cause spider's greed was already there having the stone be his ticket for money cause of the famine doesn't change that he was greedy. c and d also doesn't sound right cause kofi wasn't being selfish if he just took what he needed and suspicious doesn't sound right because the stone was asking spider to set them down, so they didn't even wanted to be paraded around, which makes a make more sense
