An art exhibition contains paintings, sculptures, and drawings. 1/4 of the works on display are sculptures, 2/5 are paintings, and the remainder are drawings. What fraction of the work on display are drawings?

we know that

The sum of the fractions of the works must be equal to 1

Let

x -----> the fraction of the work that are drawings

so


1=(1)/(4)+(2)/(5)+x

Solve for x


1=(13)/(20)+x

Subtract 13/30 both sides


x=1-(13)/(20)


x=(7)/(20)
