Just use the formula...,

; y - y(coordinate) = slope Ă— [ x - x(coordinate)]

; where we firstly have to calculate the slope...,

; (8 - 2)/(4 - 6) = -3

Then substitute into the formula using point(4, 8)...and you can also use the other point if you wish to

; y - 8 = (-3)(x - 4)

; y - 8 = -3x + 12

Hence the equation of the line....,

; y = -3x + 20
