Answer:

time, t = 3.6 min

Given:

Distance covered, d = 49 Km

My travel speed, v = 89.3 km/h

Friend's travel speed, v' = 98.2 km/h

Solution:

From the formula of speed, distance and time:

time, T = (distance, d)/(speed)

Time taken by me, T;

time, T = (d)/(v)

time, T = (49)/(89.3) = 0.55 h

Now,

Time taken by friend:

time, T' = (d)/(v')

time, T = (49)/(98.2) = 0.49 h

Friend's wait time, t = T - T' = 0.55 - 0.49 = 0.06 h

In minutes;

t =
0.06* 60 = 3.6 min
