Answer: 48.6

Step-by-step explanation: add 20.5 and 25.5 (which equals 46) to make \frac{18}{19\\} of the jug. Next divide 46 by 18 to find 1/19, which equals 2.6 (rounded). Finally add 46 and 2.6, which equals 48.6

Answer:

Milk in the jug was 48.56 ounces.

Explanation:

Let the amount of milk in the jug = x ounces

Danielle used
(1)/(19) of the jug of milk so remaining milk in the jug =
x-(x)/(19)

=
(18x)/(19)

She poured 20.5 ounces of milk into a bowl of cornflakes.

So the milk remaining in the jug =
(18x)/(19)-20.5

If the remaining milk in the jug is 25.5 ounces ten we have to calculate the amount of milk the jug originally contained.

25.5 =
(18x)/(19)-20.5

(18x)/(19)=25.5+20.5

(18x)/(19)=46

x=(46* 19)/(18)

x = 48.56 ounces

Milk in the jug was 48.56 ounces.
