Answer:

v=-8

Explanation:

It seems you have started multi-step equations. Understanding multi-step equations is virtually fundamental to higher level mathematics.

Given:

2(7v-3)=-118

We are multiplying
2 by the whole expression
(7v-3), so all you need to do is apply the distributive property. This means multiply
2 by
7v and
-3. When we do that, we then get the following:

14v-6=-118

We want to solve for the value
v, but that means we have to isolate it one one side of the equal sign. Do this by adding
6 to both sides. We then get:

14v = -112

Now, all we need to do is divide both sides by
14 to get
v by itself. We then get:

v=-8

Answer:

v=-8

Explanation:

You first distribute.

(2*7v)+(2*-3)=-118

14v-6=-118

Then you add 6 on both sides of the equation so you cancel out the -6 and the equation becomes

14v=-112

then you divide 14 on both sides to get v by itself

14v/14= v

-112/14=-8

so you get v=-8

you can check if the answer is correct or not by plugging the v in.
