-9 - (-7) = ?

Someone please explain

So keep in mind a negative minus a negative is the same as a negative plus a positive. For example -9-(-7) is the same as -9+7 because the 2 minuses cancel each other. So all you have to do is -9 + 7 = -2. If you’re confused, try looking on a number line and count it.
