Explanation: This term refers to how someone sees or evaluates themselves such as in this text the person views himself as pretty good because people always ask him questions.

He has constructed this belief that he must be pretty good and that how he now views himself and that is self concept.

Self concept can be understood in two forms

(1) The Existential Self

This is the actual realization that someone actual exist individually and they are not like anyone else even if they may be siblings but everyone exist individually as a person.

According to Lewis we start realising our existence at a very young age as we can see our selves interacting with other people and they also interact with us.

(2) The Categorical Self

After someone has realised that they exist as individuals, different from anyone else around them they now realise that they also are a part of this world.

They start to realise that they can fit under certain gender or other categories that are used in this world to define humans.
