For this case we must solve the following expression:

\frac {1} {2} + \frac {3} {8}

So, we have:

\frac {1} {2} + \frac {3} {8} = \frac {8 * 1 + 3 * 2} {2 * 8} = \frac {8 + 6} {16} = \frac {14 } {16}

Simplifying:
\frac {14} {16} = \frac {7} {8}

Answer:

\frac {7} {8}

Good morning ☕️,

(1)/(2) +(3)/(8) = (4)/(8) +(3)/(8) = (4+3)/(8)=(7)/(8)

:)
