To calculate the rate change you have to do the math as follows;

  1. You have to know the change in distance remaining from every two hour. The change can be calculated by substracting the distance remaining:
  • 480-360: 120 miles
  • 360-240:120 miles
  • 240-120: 120 miles

2. Then you calculate the time difference, also substracting the value of next cell to the upper inmediate:

  • 4-2 hour: 2 hour
  • 6-4 hour: 2 hour
  • 8-6 hour: 2 hour

Then you calculate the rate:

120miles/2 hour= 60 miles per hour

120miles/2 hour= 60 miles per hour

120miles/2 hour= 60 miles per hour

So it is a constant rate of 60 miles per hour.
