For this case we have the following equation:


(x-4) - (x + 7) = 8x

We have to:

So, rewriting the expression we have:


x-4-x-7 = 8x

We add similar terms from the left side:

Equal signs are added and the same sign is placed.

Different signs are subtracted and the major sign is placed.


-11 = 8x

We divide between 8 on both sides:

So:


x = - \frac {11} {8}

ANswer:


x = - \frac {11} {8}
