It shows the actual subtraction between two variables. interval data can be discrete, it can be 4 degrees, 6 years. The score of intelligence test can be seen on the interval scale. with IQ test anchor point is set 100 with standard deviation 15. so 115 mean is above 100 and if there is 80 then it is below the standard score because we have a relative zero point, not an absolute zero point. So we can not say that a person whose score is 120 as double intelligent the person who scored 60.

Centigrade and Fahrenheit is the best example of an interval scale.
