Firstly expand the bracket

;2[3(1 - n) -2(1+n)]

;2[ 3 - 3n - 2 - 2n ]

;2[ -5n + 1 ]

; -10n + 2

then go back to the question and substitute the bracket with the simplified form above,

; 7n - 10n + 2 = 14

; -3n = 14 - 2

; -3n = 12...then divide both sides by (-3)

;Hence... n = (-4)
