In behavior geography,
mental maps
were used to depict a person's point of view about any area. It became a field of social science. As mental maps are used to study spatial patterns and arrangements of space among people many studies have been performed to show the quality of the environment in terms of feeling and stress, and desires. The mental map has been used to show the impact of urban-dwelling on children.
GPS
is a geographic positioning system this system show the range of satellites that are in present orbit and at least three satellite need to be in range so as establish a proper connection to get land coordinates. Point out the exact locations on earth, GPS has several ground stations that transmit the data to the receiving antenna.
GIS
is a geographic information system designed to capture, store and manipulate information by processing raw data, analysis spatial data and draw a conclusion to interpret data in earth space-time in X, Y, Z coordinates representing election, latitude, and longitude. Make three-dimensional maps and help in modeling of the map layers.
Aerial photography
or airborne imagery is taking photos from an airborne camera held by manned or unmanned device, its most essential in map making as the earth has to be scanned and surveyed in terms of all aspects and then data collected and maps are published.
