-1/5 + 5/6

The least common multiple of 5 and 6 is 30. Convert -1/5 and 5/6 to fractions with denominator 30.

\boldsymbol{\sf{-(1*5)/(5*6)+(5*5)/(6*5) }}

We simplify

-6/30 + 25/30

Since -6/30 and 25/30 have the same denominator, we join their numerators to add them together.

-6 + 25/30

Add −6 and 25 to get 19.

19/30
