If the polygon is regular then the measure of each exterior angle is


(360)/(n) ← where n is the number of sides

(a) for a regular 9 sided polygon

exterior angle =
(360)/(9) = 40°

(b) for a regular 40 sided polygon

exterior angle =
(360)/(40) = 9°
